Tejave Tea

I tried it, it's really good. I didn't even need to add sugar.

Demetri Martin

'Sort of' is such a harmless thing to say. Sort of. It's just a filler. Sort of - it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things, sort of means everything. Like after "I love you" or "You're going to live."

I totally ripped this joke off of this guy.

More jokes by Demetri Martin

More stuff - a weeklong journal

I saw a comedy special featuring him, and I thought he was hilarious, so I just wanted to share.

Don't Believe the Truth Before You Can Even Buy It

Hey, I just heard this phrase on the radio. Don't you think it would be a cool name for a band or something? But what do I know...

4 am

It's 4 am and I'm hungry and I'm not tired. Oh well.

Last night I saw "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe". It was weird. I'm not even sure what to think of it right now. However, the movie reminded me of many of the books I had read. I just know that there were plenty more adventures in the book - you just can't really fit an entire book into a movie, can you? The movie had a frenetic pace, full of outlandish adventuring, and some absurdity too. It kinda was like reading about all those freaky adventures you read about in books. The coincidences were very improbable, and the good guys benefitted from an absurd amount of luck. I used to read quite a bit when I was younger, but not so much recently. So basically I've become a slightly cynical movie-watcher, when I used to be an 'anything is possible' reader. I sort of miss the Jurrasic Park, the Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and even the Alice in Wonderland.

How annoying...

All of my links are stuck on my computer at home! Maybe I should put more links on my blog or something... Man, I'm bored!

Life as a Tutor

Almost at the very end,
Wouldn't it have to happen like that,
Perhaps I felt sorry for her,
Perhaps I'm just nice.
I don't know how she spotted me,
But she did, seeking my advice.
Maybe it was my lack of bragging,
Maybe I seem to know what I'm doing.
It seemed like a hassle at first,
But lately I have been growing
A little more easy-going, more relaxed.
So, yeah, I have a pupil now.

Okay, so I've had her for a few weeks, but I'm not one to speculate on such things. If you had ever been in my class, you would think that every student was a mute, because it was so quiet. Who knew she talked so much? Geez...

- Flashback -

Where is she?

I go through the trouble of arranging to be here on time, and she's nowhere to be found. Typical! It's not what you think; she was struggling in class. Apparently I give off some sort of aura signalling that I know what I'm doing (debatable). Now I'm a tutor with a pupil. Anyways, here she comes - 20 minutes late, mind you. It could be worse I suppose...

I actually wrote this in my notebook. The nerve! Making me wait - so long that I start doodling in my notebook out of boredom. To her credit, she did improve in the following weeks. Sometimes I'm too reliable for my own good.

By the way, in case you didn't know, internet explorer sucks!

Yep, I've been using firefox for quite a while now. It's great! Unfortunately, at school I have to make do with the old crappy internet explorer. It sucks, relatively speaking.

I'm getting addicted to my computer / internet access

School is majorly crowded. Everyone is busy studying! Well, not everyone. I spotted one guy playing chess. Someone else is playing some sort of game. I can't really complain so much. I used to only be able to access the internet through my college, so I can understand these rogues just using the computers for leisure. I myself have finished all of my school related work, that's why I'm blogging now. Lately it seems if I'm not using a computer, I'm not really doing anything. I suppose I could watch tv, but it just seems like it's just a way to pass time.

If I were a baseball player...

It would not be a pretty sight. One time, on a whim, I decided to keep track of my statistics one season when I played in little league. I wished I hadn't.

21 AB
3 Hits
.143 Batting Average
11 Stikeouts
2 walks
1 Hit-by-pitch (ouch!)
1 Homerun (the inside the park variety)

Interesting that I had as many HR's as singles. It is sort of a reflection of one of my philosophies, that being that I'm very much an all-or-nothing type of person. You wouldn't think that would you? It's one of my very subtle character traits.
